Electra Townie Original 7d Men’s Bike – Review

This article is an In – Depth Overview on Electra Townie original 7d Men’s Bike. The Electra Townie 7D is a large cruiser bike for short to moderate rides in urban areas. It has a unique design with tubes that flow into one another, a reasonable price, and a comfortable riding geometry.

This bike was designed with urban convenience in mind. The Townie Go! has a highly loose shape and is long and low. Electra has copyrighted and registered the Flat Foot Technology geometric design. “An upright, comfortable seated position with adequate leg extension that allows you to put your feet flat on the ground anytime you choose or need to,” they state of this design.

We found this claim to be true during testing, as we could pedal with good leg extension while never reaching for the ground with our feet when we came to a halt. Electra accomplished this by constructing the bike with the bottom bracket and cranks located more front than normal, which works well for this bike. It encourages a relaxed body stance and easy-going riding style, which is quite relaxing.

Electra Townie original 7d Men’s Bike – Features

It’s not the sportiest or fastest ride, but it’s apparent from the appearance and design of this bike that it wasn’t meant to be. The easy-going cruiser style reflects in the handling of this bike, which is smooth and mellow rather than fast and nimble. Its larger wheelbase length provides better speed stability and a longer turning radius when riding. Short radius turns aren’t this bike’s strong suit, but it does handle nicely at slower speeds and tighter corners.

The Townie Go! 7D rides and looks like a standard beach cruiser. It’s a beach cruiser, after all, with a 250W rear hub engine and a 309Wh battery built into the back baggage rack. Although the battery and engine add weight to the bike, it rides with the relaxed, comfortable feel you’d anticipate, given its look. The big, balloon-like tires contain a lot of air capacity, which helps to reduce vibration and smooth over uneven surfaces and fissures in the pavement.

Power Performance

A 250W Hydrive rear hub motor is present with the Townie Go! 7D. This motor system features three pedal assist settings, ranging from light in level 1/low to strong in level 3/high, providing a great range of support. With roughly a half-rotation of the pedals, Pedal Assist kicks in, and the delivery is quite smooth and constant. Electra’s power builds gradually and appears to match the rider’s effort, unlike other motorcycles, which seem jumpy and eager to accelerate.

Tires and Brakes

The Townie rides about town on 26-inch wheels with 2-inch semi-slick tires. The 2′′ tires are usually broad enough to provide a pleasant and secure ride. The rims are double-walled, meaning they’re sturdy and won’t be harmed if you hit a pothole or a curb.

This bike is equipped with basic aluminium V-brakes that are easily adjustable. Disc brakes would be excessive on this bike, which is designed for flat riding.

The battery is flat within the rear cargo rack’s bars. The battery is detachable, sliding along a track and locking into place with a key. On the battery side is a big charging port cover that may be used to charge the battery on or off the bike. The 309Wh battery is small and light, and it features a handle that makes it easy to remove and transport.

LED Lights

The Townie Go! 7D’s LED display simply provides the user with the most basic information. A column of five blue LED lights indicates battery charge. A column of three red LEDs indicates pedal assist mode. Unlike a more complex display, this monitor is incapable of displaying additional information such as current speed, distance travelled, or elapsed time. All five blue LEDs light up when the battery is completely charged. The lights turn off one by one as the battery runs out.

The Townie Go! 7D was quick and simple to put together, and it received good marks in this category. Electra bikes are normally offered through authorized bike stores, REI, or the Trek bikes website (Trek is Electra’s parent business), and they will typically arrive completely built. Electra offers a paper owner’s handbook with the bike, but full assembly instructions may be found on their website.

The Electra Townie 7D has a simple 17-speed drivetrain with a big 44-tooth crank set and a 14-34-tooth cassette in the back.

Shimano Tourney TX rear derailleur and Shimano Revo grip shifter for changing gears. If you want to feel a burn in your legs, these seven gears make the bike appropriate for flat riding with some modest hills in between.

Flat Foot Technology

When you come to a halt, the concept behind Electra Townie is to allow you to effortlessly place your feet on the ground. It is possible with Electra’s Flat Foot Technology. The pedals are somewhat higher in front of the saddle than on other bicycles, allowing for complete leg extension without lifting the saddle too high.

In the next segment of “Electra Townie original 7d Men’s Bike – Review,” let’s talk about the two versions of Electra Townie original 7d bike.

Men’s & Women’s Version

Men’s and women’s versions of the Electra Townie 7D are available. At least, that’s how the makers refer to them. We’d just name them “step-over” and “step-through” based on what we’ve learned about this bike.

The size and form of the frame, as well as the colours, are the only differences between these two variants. The frame is a step-over, and the men’s version is somewhat larger than the women’s.

There are three colour options for the men’s version: matte black, matte khaki green, and silver. Light blue, blue, red, purple, green, yellow, and turquoise are the seven hues for the women’s model.

The Townie Go! 7D is a traditional beach cruiser with a 250W rear hub motor and three pedal assist settings in propelling you up to 20 mph. The relaxing sitting posture on this bike complements the bike’s laid-back handling and pleasant ride experience. It’s not the most advanced bike in the test. But we think it’s a good choice for riders looking for a basic cruiser with some pedalling assistance.

This was all about “Electra Townie original 7d Men’s Bike” I hope this was helpful to our readers.
